OZARK
SNOW
As the "chief
cook and bottle washer" at
Gozarks: Everything Ozarks, I
have developed a craving for "images." Pretty pictures of everything
related and pertaining to life in this neck of the woods. So when snow
accumulated to a goodly depth on February 5 and 6, 2002, I sent 'round a
gentle request to an eclectic list of friends, begging the indulgence of
a favor.
My hope was
that some of of these folks would grab a few picture picture perfect
photos of these wondrous wintertime woods, creeks, animals and people
playing, bucolic vistas, etc...... and grant permission for me to use
these on Gozarks or on the Fairfield Bay Area Chamber of Commerce
Website, or in conjunction with one of the other Websites I design.
Well...
Being the
wonderful people they are, a steady stream of excellent images have been
flowing into my Inbox. A sampling of these are posted here for
everyone to enjoy. And, as I wend my way through the days, weeks and
months of updating pages for the various organizations I serve, some of
these same photos (with proper credit to the photographers) will be
posted... along with a huge bushel of thanks.

The
first two come from the Russellville area, courtesy of Ralph McCormick,
editor/publisher of
Fly-Low:

The photo at left comes from
Dr. Herschel Raney of Conway. The doggie catching the snowball is named
Percy. Herschel is the author of "Random
Natural Acts."
The 5 photos that follow
come from the top of Holley Mountain, right here in Van Buren County.
The scenes show off the winter wonderland at the residential aviation
community being created there. It's called
Holley Mountain Airpark. The 5th one
down is my personal favorite.
